These new Monarchs will be the ones to migrate

We have many areas of asclepias around the farm, so we don’t have a sense of how many Monarchs there may be. Michael spotted these Monarch caterpillars on the first-year asclepias in the front yard of the tiny house. As we understand it, there are several generations of Monarchs over the summer. The ones that are pupating now are the ones who will make the long journey to Mexico.
